Concert Artist Mitchell Green is a performer and clinician at concert venues and guitar festivals across the United States. A Chicago-area native, Mr. Green has been featured at the Ravinia Festival, on 98.7 WFMT radio, and as a guest soloist with symphony orchestras.

Mr. Green has appeared as a guest soloist with the Illinois North Suburban Symphony and the Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra’s Sinfonietta. He has performed at Chicago’s Latin American Guitar Festival, the Steinway Concert Series, the New York Guitar Seminar, and the Aspen Music Festival. Mr. Green also performed for the grand opening of Northwestern University’s Ryan Center for the Musical Arts, as well as for the Music Institute of Chicago’s 81st Annual Gala honoring Maestro Riccardo Muti, conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Mitchell began his musical studies at age four under Dr. Julia Miller, his teacher for 14 years at the Music Institute of Chicago. He was awarded a scholarship to participate in the Music Institute of Chicago’s Academy program and received a scholarship to study under Sharon Isbin, Guitar Chair of the Juilliard School of Music, at the Aspen Music Festival and School. Mr. Green was the first guitarist to graduate with honors from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, where he studied under Professor Anne Waller. He simultaneously earned his degree in economics from the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Green has since studied guitar under Denis Azabagić.

Mr. Green has placed in numerous guitar competitions, with first place finishes in the Society of American Musicians Competition, the James Glacking Musicians Competition, and Gand Music & Sound’s Guitar Idol. He also placed in the Walgreens National Concerto Competition. He has performed in masterclasses for renown artists Oscar Ghiglia, Eduardo Fernandez, Alvaro Pierri, Zoran Dukić, Eliot Fisk, Raphaella Smits, Scott Tennant, René Izquierdo, Jorge Caballero, Elena Papendreou, Jason Vieaux, Marcin Dylla, Johannes Möller and more.

Mr. Green is a board member of the Chicago Classical Guitar Society and serves as the board’s treasurer. He is a certified Suzuki educator, a lifetime member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and a member of the Guitar Foundation of America. Mr. Green maintains an active teaching studio and frequently performs throughout the Chicagoland area.
